It’s time for a confession. A few years ago Scott and I decided to put ourselves first. We started tracking our food intake, exercising regularly and really focusing on us. We lost the equivalent of what our kids weighed at the time and it felt great. I had energy and was happy. I even went shopping for new clothes and got rid of the ones that made me feel frumpy. That’s a pretty big deal because I hate shopping for clothes.
Since that time, things have gotten hectic. The kids’ schedules keep us on our toes (and in a car) a lot. Dinners are difficult and often rushed. Fast food is on the menu more often than I care to admit. As you can see by all the content we have been creating here, things at SahmReviews have been busy. We spend more than a typical 40 hour work week trying to coordinate everything that needs to be done to make a website successful. Over the past couple months, we’ve put together a variety of gift ideas for you including multiple items in the following categories:
Then came the snow. As if things weren’t crazy enough, Jack Frost decided to show up and grace us with lots and lots of snow. Yay, Iowa. (Yes, that was sarcastic.)
For those in warmer climates, that means shoveling all that white stuff off the driveway and sidewalks. It’s not an option; it’s the law. Want to know what I realized? My now-out-of-shape body doesn’t much care for all the heavy lifting. While some snow is fluffy, the stuff the snowplow pushes onto the end of your driveway never is. It’s the hardest stuff to lift and in the process of trying to help Scott get it shoveled recently, I did something to my back. To say I was miserable would be putting it mildly.
As I wobbled around the house slouched over like an 80 year old woman, I struggled to find something to make me feel better. A hot bath, ibuprofen and heating pads just weren’t cutting it. Then I realized a deep tissue massage was what I really needed and Wahl had just the gadget to do the trick.
With a combination of interchangeable heads and variable intensity control, the Wahl Deep Tissue Massager is one of the most powerful handheld massagers on the market. It has the ability to work a large muscle area or pinpoint small areas. In my case, a little of each since I wasn’t sure what I did and where I did it. Pretty much a huge portion of my back and side were perpetually screaming at me.
The Wahl Deep Tissue Massager relieves muscle tension, reduces pain intensity, decreases swelling and improves recovery. Even better, it is available at home so I can fit it into my schedule – unlike trying to make arrangements to visit a chiropractor or massage therapist. Because with all the work we have going on, fitting anything else into the schedule is not going to happen.
And why am I telling you all this? Because over the course of our gift guides I told you about so many items, including compression socks for exercise and bikes, as people prepare their New Year’s resolutions and new health goals. What I didn’t recall were all the aches and pains I experienced when I started new fitness routines… until I hurt my back shoveling snow. Yes, being active is important. Unfortunately, it can take a toll on your body.
In addition to all the other gift ideas I provided, this is another one! If you or one of your gift recipients has fitness, losing weight and health on their New Year’s Resolution list, then a Wahl Deep Tissue Massager is a viable gift option. Whether they overdo their exercise routine and need a way to loosen and relax their muscles or want to create a massage regimen to enhance blood flow and decrease inflammation, their bodies will thank you.
Wahl Deep Tissue Massagers are available at most major retailers including Amazon. Connect with Wahl Wellness on Facebook for wellness advice. In addition to our regular prizes in the 100+ Days of Giveaways, we’re giving an additional opportunity to win a Wahl Deep Tissue Massager right here!
