Using M&M’s to Win an XBox One?

As the world knows, the XBox One is out and getting very good reviews.  Their launch went without any major issues and is sure to be under many trees this Christmas.  At $500 I don’t plan on being an early adopter this time, but I sure would take one for free!

“Gaming with M Pixel Art Contest” is my (and your) chance to score a free XBox One and a bag of M&M’s to go along with it.  This is great because as I’ve shown, gaming truly is better with M.  But you ask, “How can I get a free system just by using M&M’s?”  My friend…it is this simple.  Using your M&M’s you create a game-related piece of “pixel art” or “sprite” as it is known in the game industry.  You can find the official rules here, but here are the abbreviated requirements:

Get creative with M&M’s® and win an Xbox One gaming with M pack!
Create your own Pixel Art using M&M’s® candies and snap an Instagram Photo. Tag your image with #FueledByM AND #Contest and post the image on Instagram and Twitter.
One lucky Pixel Artist will win a new Xbox One and Gaming is better with M pack including the Forza 5 Motorsport game and a 14 oz bag of M&M’s®. Contest runs Dec. 4th – Dec. 18th and winner will be chosen at random.

Even though the winner will be chosen at random, I’m not one to do anything the easy way.  First, off to Walmart to get a few bags to work with.  I found a coupon online for $1.00 off of two bags – perfect timing! This is the best time of year because the holiday bags are out – that means more colors to work with!

First things first.  No artist can work with mixed up colors, so sorting is necessary.  This is where good helpers come in handy.

I think I mentioned before that I wasn’t taking the easy route.  Will need some tools.

Let’s get started working on the frame.  Getting this right is paramount to having a great end result.

I have the original Pac-Man screen pulled up on an iPad next to me so it can be as accurate as possible.  Scale is important too.  Lasers sure help here!

Now that the outside is done, we can start filling in the center.

The fun part, adding the ‘dots’ and ghosts.  Notice the cute cherry?

Yes, that is a long time for a contest entry, but where else can you have so much fun ‘playing with your food”?!  I was on a roll and ended up making a few more to enhance my chances of winning.  Recognize this cute little guy?

Right now we’re loving the new Disney Infinity game (well, my daughters are) so as a tribute to it we recreated their signature logo!
