Chocolate Hazelnut French Toast
Just before Thanksgiving, we had the opportunity to spend some time in Chicago. Breakfast at the hotel included a lavish children’s menu that included crepes and stuffed French Toast utilizing chocolate hazelnut spread. Miss M has never had French Toast nor expressed an interest in trying it but the “chocolate hazelnut” aspect of this one had her ready to test something new.
You know what? She loved it. So much that she requested that I make it at home and that’s a big deal because I kind of have a reputation for not being the best chef in the house (and my kids are fully aware of that.)
The timing was perfect as I would soon be testing out Hershey’s spreads! Specifically, the chocolate with hazelnut variety. I threw together a quick batch for breakfast one day and she loved my creation… topped with (rapidly melting) whipped cream!
Chocolate Hazelnut Stuffed French Toast
4 slices white bread
Hershey’s Chocolate with Hazelnut Spread
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Whipped Cream (for garnish)
Cooking spray
Beat eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Generously spread Hershey’s Chocolate Hazelnut Spread on two slices of bread to create a sandwich. Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture then toast on skilled coated with cooking spray. Toast until browned on each side then top with whipped cream and serve.
Hershey’s Chocolate with Hazelnut Spread is just one of their varieties. For more information on visit the Hershey’s Spread website.
