  1. I’m not too picky, but I definitely like games where it’s obvious that time/money have been put in to make it look good. For example, FFG tends to hire great artists.

  2. Oh wow! We JUST purchased this game…it is AMAZING! We haven’t won yet, but will keep trying!! I highly recommend this game…it is very well thought out, and there are so many things to keep track of! As for the artwork question, I like any artwork that fits well with the game. This game has great manga-like artwork, which is perfect. We also have another game called Sushi Go that has very cute pieces of sushi on the cards. Both art styles fit perfectly with each game.

  3. I like art that depicts landscapes and geological features (Above and Below comes to mind, with it’s underground cave system).

  4. warm, pretty colors. blues, reds, greens, browns, all okay if used well together. But I hate green/grey/brown dystopian palates that look like someone threw up on the board (I’m also sick of that motif in movies and video games). Intricate design is appreciated, so long as it doesn’t make it hard to find key board features.
