Wishing You a Healthy & Happy 2023!

Happy New Year!

Thank you for joining us on another trip around the sun. It’s been a year of ups and downs as we have tried to continue offering quality content while also dealing with commitments away from the website.

Some of our highlights that didn’t necessarily get features on SAHM Reviews: Scott worked with Smirk & Dagger to release his second game. The adorable but strategic game, boop., was a hit when it released in November, selling out in about two weeks. With high demand, another print run was ordered and will be available in March. It was so exciting to watch him succeed with his second release as he did with his first, Hues and Cues. Kennedy celebrated her high school graduation earlier this year and headed off to college to join Madison. They’re both enjoying their best lives and we’re navigating life as empty nesters. As for me, I redirected my participation in non-profit from a local part time job to an officer on the Board of Directors for GAMA, the game industry’s trade organization. And as much as I tend to live behind a camera lens, I discovered that I took very few family pictures as I was more interested in being part of the moment than capturing it.

As for SAHM Reviews, with less articles than we had been doing in the past, it may have looked like we were slacking off. But we remained busy behind the scenes as we switched to a new theme (helps the site run better!), syndicated our content on MSN and tried our hand at short-form videos on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. As we move into 2023, I’m feeling refreshed and full of hope that all the groundwork we laid in 2022 will be reflected in the content we create moving forward.

And for you, we know there have been ups and downs as well. Some of our readers reached out to tell us they played new games and thanked us for the suggestions. Words of appreciation came for some of our other content as well as our giveaways. It’s always a delight to know we make a difference. But I would be remiss if I didn’t share how heartbroken we were to hear that some members of our community lost a loved one. Our heart goes out to each of you that experienced loss or other difficulties in 2022.

With a new year comes an opportunity to refocus. Whether you’re enjoying time with family and friends or taking up a new hobby, we hope find joy and success in 2023.
