    The game is sent in about 900 AD in West Francia, which is otherwise known as The West Kingdom.

    SJ Macdonald came up with the design of Architects of the West Kingdom and went Shem Phillips to develop it because SJ knew Shem from being in a band together.

    From the podcast “The Viking Age” I learned alot about the western kingdom Charlemagne, Carlie the Hammer, the Franks….it’s all good stuff and relates these games (Arhitects and Raiders of the North Sea) very well!

    Um…not much? There are architects and paladins…and worker placement…and apparently it’s the founding kingdom of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Who knew?

    This game has a unique action in which you can “capture” opponents workers. It’s part of a cool series of games. I would like to have it!

    Having only played Architects I know West Kingdom is a followon to the North Seas series. Fun game, and the characters carry over into Paladins.

    There are many threats to defend against (byzantine, vikings etc.) so it is fairly real world

    I don’t know much about the West Kingdom except that it’s in the West (Europe) and has a monarchy (as revealed by the word ‘kingdom’.) I do know this is a trilogy (to be) of games that follows the Raiders trilogy. I also know this is the giveaway I am currently most excited about!

      Confirmed: You cannot get architecture continuing education credits for playing Architects.

    The games? Architects is a worker placement similar to Raiders of the North Sea. Paladins is similar but plays more like a Euro.
