Turning Heads One Step at a Time

Disclosure

There was a time in my life when I didn’t mind being the focus of attention. I modeled new clothing lines for the local branch of a national clothing store in exchange for store credit. The work including in-store runway work and display window live-mannequin modeling. It was fun and helped me get some cute new clothes in exchange for a few hours of work. My aunt worked at a shoe store at the local outlet center so I always had shoes to match my new outfits.

I was young and confident in my appearance.

A lot has changed since those days. When I started gaining weight, I lost interest in shopping for new clothes. Ultimately I would walk out of the dressing room feeling dejected with the fit and my figure. To this day, I shop for clothes only when I have to.

My feet, on the other hand, still love to go shopping. Whether it is a new pair of running shoes or a cute pair of sandals, I’m perfectly happy. Boots, however, are my absolute weakness. Scott will see a pair on sale online and ask if I want them. “Yes! I mean, no!” “I love them but I don’t need them.” I talk myself out of them whenever I can.

But Sandgrens put me to the test; tempted my will power with a pair of Sandgrens Clog Boots. Guess what… I LOVE THEM! The pair, red New York High, arrived mid last week and Friday was the first time I was going anywhere that I could wear them. I rode with Scott to an appointment and while I sat in the waiting area, someone approached me and told me how killer my boots were. I gleamed and proudly said they are a new release from Sandgrens. Seriously… These boots hadn’t been in public for 10 minutes and they already had a compliment! I can’t remember the last time I had such an instant response to something I did, wore or owned.

We went to lunch and had some errands to run then headed home. On our way to the local board game meet-up that evening, we took the girls for a quick bite at McDonald’s. The young woman behind the counter spotted them as I was walking away. She told Scott how awesome my boots were! He called me back where she told me the wood caught her attention and that she loved the look.

Me too. I love how they look and that they can be both casual or dress!

Just like my sandals from Sandgrens, these are high quality. The boots are comfortable but run a little wider than I’m used to. I think it’s because they are designed for pants to be tucked in which is something I don’t usually do. The buckles on these deserve to be shown so I did decide to tuck my jeans into them for part of the day. If I planned to wear them with nylons instead of socks, I probably should have sized down.

I’ve worn these with black jeans and a black skirt because I like the contrast (and I like black) but they would also look nice with tan slacks or jeans. They’re versatile and really adorable!

Sandgren’s is extremely excited about their newest release:

  1. Oh my gosh I LOVE these boots! I have about 4 pairs of clogs in my closet and two pairs of boots and this is the perfect combo of both. Great look for the fall!

  2. I’m not much of a shoe person but I LOVE these shoes! The heel is pretty awesome. They are very unique looking too.

They are a solid looking shoe too. I don’t think you have to worry about breaking a heel.

  3. Those are rockin’! I love them. But I am not sure that I could walk/wear them without a sole that doesn’t give at all. Getting too old and my feet just can’t take it like they used to. But I have always loved the look of clogs and used to wear them all the time. So I’d give these a try in a heartbeat!

  4. Oh la la! I’ve been dreaming of that boots for so long! It’s so pretty and that color is so rich and fabulous too. I like Sandgrens a lot. I have 2 pairs already, the was free (Seoul Clogs) and the other was through their sale (Rio mid heels). I love them so much. They are comfortable and for someone who is flat-footed, I’m amazed how I can go around town wearing Sandgrens and not hurting my feet. Lovely clogs!

  5. I might actually wear something like this but with jeans only. Not so much because of the boots, but more so because I only like jeans… lol These are pretty cute!

  6. Beautiful boots! They are a perfect colour for the Fall season. As amazing the boots are they are just an extension of your beauty and great taste. May you allow the compliments to really sink in for your own awesomeness too. Have a lovely day!

  7. These are very cute boots. I’m pretty much like you. I do have a weakness for red boots, and have stopped myself each time I saw some I liked b/c I didn’t want to draw attention to myself. These boots are nice b/c they are slightly muted in cole and the style is conservative enough that I say wow!
