Lugz Footwear: Inside and Out

This past Friday was Valentine’s Day and as my girls received gifts from their boyfriends, I was once again reminded that they are growing up. As much as I complain, I appreciate that they’ve learned to make their own decisions in life. From how they spend their money to the interests they pursue both in and outside of school, I recognize that they are in the driver’s seat. They still run ideas past Scott and me, but for the most part they are independent thinkers. When it comes to fashion, there are two very different approaches from them.

Madison is all about comfort. Kennedy is all about trend. When we buy something for Madison, she accepts it and wears it. During last year’s yard sale, I’m sad to admit how many of the items that Kennedy had outgrown still had tags on them. When we had the opportunity to write about a couple products from Lugz, I asked the girls whether they would be interested. Madison fawned over a pair of Sequoia slipper-shoes and Kennedy thought the Convoy Fur 6″ boots looked stylish. Okie-dokey.

As I expected, Madison found the Sequoia slipper shoes to be comfortable and practical. What I didn’t expect is that they would replace her regular slippers. “The slippers I got are VERY comfy! They are my go-to for walking around the house. I’m absolutely in love with my Lugz! Plus, they have a little bit of a heel so I don’t feel as short as I actually am!”

She’s been perfectly happy wearing them around the house, yet takes them off if she needs to go outside.  It’s winter so I guess that kind of makes sense. She has more appropriate Lugz Tambora winter boots to wear in the snow. But once winter is over, these are fair game. With a Chukka appearance and soft suede, Lugz Sequoia slipper shoes will be more practical. Not only can they replace slippers inside, but the lightweight EVA outsole makes them functional for wearing outside, too. And for the record, she’s still shorter than me.

But let’s talk about Kennedy for a minute. She’s always a tough sell when it comes to fashion. For someone who is focused on fitness, shoes are the one time that she considers function as much as fashion. She could live in a pair of cross-country shoes if we let her, but for winter… in Iowa… she knows she needs to wear boots. Not only did Kennedy find a pair of Lugz Convoy fur boots, but she’s worn them a lot! “The boots I got are not only cute but extremely comfy. I love pairing them with jeans and fuzzy socks! They fit really well and I love wearing them to school. My friends like them too!”

That last part is key, in my opinion. They’re stylish so when her friends gave her a thumbs up, she was excited to wear them more often. While they work for cold temps, the Lugz Convoy boots are lightweight enough to do double-duty in non-winter months, too. Did I mention that they’re fashionable and teens apparently like them? They do. Kennedy told us both verbally… and by wearing these more than a couple of times!
