Not very long ago when we wanted to buy something, we were limited to whatever the local retailers decided to stock or turned to department store and mail order catalogs. The barriers to entry that a small company faced was enormous, whether it was the cost of direct marketing, periodical advertising or even slotting fees to guarantee you space on the shelf locally. Thanks to the internet and our global economy this is no longer the case. SahmReviews enjoys bringing information about companies that you might have never heard of before like Tego, SOL REPUBLIC and Jackery. Today we want to tell you about another one, Inateck.

Based out of Germany (mmm…schnitzel…), Inateck is a consumer electronics company focusing on computer peripherals and portable accessories. Probably more well known for the items that connect to your computer (PCI-E cards, HDD enclosures, etc.), they also now have a line of portable Bluetooth speakers as well as presentation laser pointers and Kindle protective covers.

Sometimes it is the inexpensive items that have the most impact on your organization, and we found that to be the case with their 4-Port USB Wall Charger. As you can see, our outlets are full with a mix of different brands of charging adapters, each one not-so-conveniently designed to handle just one specific device. We easily replaced them all with just one of Inateck’s wall chargers, and when hidden behind a table or chair, disappears so we no longer see the tangled mess.

We also have a similar issue with our computer, where we are constantly plugging and unplugging devices into the limited number of USB ports when we need to transfer photos and videos, sync phones with iTunes or upload data from our fitness devices.

Inateck has a solution for that as well in their 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub. While designed to be a portable item you can take with a laptop or to a hotel room to expand the number of available ports, it is also well-suited for permanent attachment to your computer. Using a USB extension, we were able to bring three live USB ports from the computer tower up to the keyboard. No more bending and searching to plug in the USB cable, it is literally right at our fingertips. As a bonus it also has a built-in SD card reader – again putting this connection within arm’s reach.

But as I mentioned previously, Inateck has begun expanding into the more traditional consumer electronics market with the debut of their latest Bluetooth speaker, the BP2001 10W model. The design of this speaker bar allows you to cradle your phone or tablet into the top and connect wirelessly to the system. An extendable leg in the back of the bar keeps the speaker from tipping over when you have tablets and larger phones attached. Recharging is easily done by plugging it into any USB port (hmm, wonder where we can find an open USB port now?!).

As expected, the connection to the speaker was easy to set up and features 2.1 channel stereo sound. A built in speaker allows you to answer calls, and the included mini-jack doesn’t limit you to only wireless devices. Considering you can find this on Amazon for around $25, we can easily say it is one of the best values in this price range.

As for the USB peripherals above – this is a case of they either work or they don’t. And they do. After putting them through regular usage over the past couple of weeks they continue to do exactly as advertised. The USB hub gets the most use as devices are switched in and out, and is a great deal at only $20. The 4-port charger will also be a great traveler instead of packing all of those different adapters and is priced around $14! Cheaper than one replacement from any of the phone companies!

Curious what other devices Inateck might have for you? See their full line on their website (or Amazon) and be sure to check out what they’re working on next by following them on Twitter and Facebook.

Like what you see here? The good Herren (gentlemen) at Inateck are going to give away one each of the above products to one lucky SahmReviews reader! Enter below, and don’t forget to come back tomorrow (and the next day, and the next) for additional daily entries. With this package you’ll be shopping for additional devices to plug into all those ports!

  1. This is so convenient! In my classroom, I often have 3 or 4 students who need to charge a device. They all have different plugs and there aren’t enough outlets for everyone.
I also need one at home, too!

  2. We have the same problem. Unplug this to plug that in. Too many times I think I’m charging my phone & then I find out hours later that it wasn’t plugged in at all. Ugh! We need this!

  3. I love that this works on Apple products! Between iPads, iPhones and iPods we always have something plugged in. In fact I love it so much I just bought it!!! Woot for Amazon points. Thanks for the great review.

  4. The Atlanta airport (ATL) could use the USB chargers (also the Quito airport. So I suspect they all do lol) They have a few built in but on our long wait this summer people stalked them waiting for a chance to plug in their devises. If I had had one I could have plugged in and shared. I would’ve been like “Yes I did just plug in a 4 port charger, come crowd around and recharge”. But then again I don’t like crowds….
But still gonna click over to Amazon and take a look- 3 kids, a husband, and 2 in law kids, might need that!

    1. So nice of you to think of sharing because there are times when I’ve been out (at the mall, at Disney World, etc) and couldn’t find a place to charge my phone!

  5. That USB charging hub would be perfect for eliminating the mess of cords cluttering up my counter. My kids are constantly unplugging my phone to charge their own!

  6. I really love being clean and organized, so this is perfect for me. Tangled cords drive me crazy and our home office is a bit of a mess.

  7. This is so perfect for me since I am a neat freak! Our home office is so messy and drives me crazy, so I would love to clean up the cable mess.

  8. That is a great price on that speaker. We have a couple different speakers in our house and I have been wanting a couple more. At $25 I could afford to get the amount of speakers I need. Thank you I can’t wait to try them out!

  9. I currently only have one device that charges via USB (that I know of – I need to see if my new phone will, if I got a different cord), but having an adapter like these would definitely allow me to consider getting more. Lack of plugin space has been an issue.

  10. I love amazing tech like this. I could really use this in my house with 5 people. I have way too many USB here in my home.

  11. I am not the type of person that likes to have messy wires.. i am always looking for the cleaner way to do things.. that USB hub was really a great way to keep it all together..

  12. I have 4 devices I would use with it, but my brother lives right next door and I’m sure he would be suing his stuff on it as well!

  13. Ooh! I really need that 4 port USB charging port! My daughter is constantly taking my single one. It would be nice to have multiples so I don’t have to go off in search of mine every night!

  14. Speaking first that the prices are really good, I like the sizes of the devices, they look so tiny to me, in comparison to my bulk blocks bought a while ago. Our tech grandfather would love to have all of them.

  15. I love their products; while we were in Germany over the summer we used a lot of the chargers at friends and family homes and I loved them.. I had no idea that theya re now in the US, totally have to check it out. I soo wanted to bring them back to the US.. thanks for sharing, off to amazon I go. Great quality and awesome price.

  16. What an awesome prize pack! I really need a speaker like that for up at the cabin. We like to have music outside while we hang out and are carting around a big old skool boom box right now.

  17. We have a ton of devices in our house. Thankfully, we usually don’t have an issue finding an open plug. I like the idea of the four plug outlet. I think next time I build a house, I will ask the builder to install the usb outlets around the house.

  18. These are awesome devices indeed. I really dislike unplugging and this UBS port would be awesome to have for sure. Thanks for sharing.

  19. the speaker looks great. I really like the extra USB ports. One can never have to many of those, we all have electronics everywhere.

  20. I can also vouch for the fact that these German tech pieces make good gifts. Thanks for posting this. Good info.
