Accepting Awesome Kids Nominations: SportsKid of the Year

Disclosure

Over the years, my kids have been active in a variety of sports. They are both athletic in their own ways and enjoy different sports from one another. While Miss M made it to state for swimming this past summer, at a local road race, Miss K was the fastest girl in her 8-year-old age group and 2nd fastest of all girls 12 and under.  Great accomplishments to be proud of!

With each sport, I watch my kids and cheer them on to do their best.  At the same time, I witness other kids excel and admire what they are able to achieve through their hard work and natural talents.

I often wonder of the amazing athletes we see at various sporting events, if any will eventually go on to become professionals or maybe even Olympians. Be featured on a box of Wheaties or on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

When opportunities to spread the word about getting kids to be featured in a spotlight, I am more than willing to spread the word. It’s that time of year again when Sports Illustrated Kids is accepting nominations for SportsKid of the Year. If you know a kid between the age of 7 and 15 who you feel is deserving of this award, go nominate them! The winner of the 2013 SportsKid of the Year award will appear on the cover of the December 2013 issue of Sports Illustrated Kids. In addition, the winner will receive a special SportsKid of the Year jacket and a trip to New York City to accept the award at the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year ceremony.

The deadline to nominate someone is October 7th so don’t hesitate. To help inspire you, check out last year’s SKOTY winners.
