Major-league Anti-perspirant
One of our favorite summer activities is to take the girls to a baseball game. We have a great minor league team in our town whose stadium was just voted the Best Minor League Ballpark by USA Today last year. We also discovered that the team offers a great summer promotion for the kids called the River Bandits Kids Club. For $30 ($25 if you sign up pre-season) your kids can attend EVERY game for free throughout the summer! They also get admission to the bounce house area and a special Kid’s Club membership card and t-shirt. At $8 per game for bleacher seats, this is a bargain! But with summer baseball comes the summer heat. This means making sure you have a long-lasting deodorant to keep you from smelling like one of the ball players!
In my former life I wore a shirt and tie to work every day. You know what that means – yellow underarm stains on your white shirts thanks to the chemicals in typical deodorants. Nothing irked me more than having to replace an $80 dress shirt thanks to a $4 hygiene product. Not to mention the number of undershirts I would go through in a year. It was back then when I was introduced to Tom’s of Maine and their line of natural personal care products. They not only did the job of hiding any body odor, they did not ruin my clothes. In all honesty, it was a good product for me for 90% of the time. If I was going to be standing in a hot convention center for hours on end, then I would revert back to the non-natural products to make sure I got through the day stink-free.

So at a recent game I put it to the test. The forecast was high humidity, so it would definitely be a challenge! In fact, the humidity was so high the game was rained out!
The one thing that didn’t fail though was this long-lasting deodorant. Even soaking wet I still managed to smell like a mountain spring (well, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but there was no B.O. to be sniffed!).
Interesting to note was the offer of Amazon’s Prime Pantry. In an effort to compete with ever-popular grocery delivery services, Amazon now offers up to 45lbs. (or 4 cubic ft) of select grocery and personal care items delivered for only $5.99. We compared many of the item prices to the same products at our Walmart today and found Amazon’s prices to be identical or within a couple pennies in either direction. That $5.99 deliver charge goes a long way when it keeps us from having to stand in line to check out, not to mention the gas savings! It’s a steal!

Your 100% correct spend $80 on a shirt and ruin it for no reason when products like Tom’s can save the yellow stains. I love baseball and loved your pictures including the rainbow. My daughter is interning for the Mets this year as an artist. 🙂

I’ve never tried Tom’s deodorant before, but I plan to now. The world needs more products that don’t use animal testing. It’s barbaric.
Tom’s of Maine is one of my favorite brands because it’s natural and does not have all the harsh chemicals. I buy this brand deodorant for my son. What a great way to spend the day!
We love Tom’s of Maine. Their deodorant is gluten free so my daughter always uses it.
