Semi-Annual Top 5 Games Roundup

How did we decide which were the best? We didn’t! Cost, replayability, quality of construction and timelessness all play into our decision of whether or not to feature them here on SahmReviews. This list is derived from all the games we feature, whether brand new or a Thrift Treasure. We have board games, card games, dice games and much more to choose from, but in the end these were the five most viewed by you!
#5 – Trench

#4 – Walk the Plank

#3 – Takeaway

#2 – Spite & Malice

#1 – Moose in the House

And there you have it. Our most popular games from the last six months. If you like what you see, be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed so you don’t miss a single game! We usually feature two or three PER WEEK! Alternately you can get your fix by liking SahmReviews.com on Facebook and following us on Twitter.
What games (or type of games) would you like to see next?
I’ve been eyeing trench for a while now and I’m thinking I should take the dive soon.
I have never heard of these games before, they must be popular if they made your list.
There is something about trench it makes me not sure I would enjoy the game. Need to test it someday to see if I’m wrong.
Walk the plank and Trench are a must!
I’d love to get Trench. Good top 5 list!
Trench is starting to peak my interest. Every time I see the board it reminds me of Othello. Walk the Plank looks/sounds like a fun kids game! Might have to add that to the “want” list.
We’re a big fan of card games around here so thanks for the tips. Also Trench looks very cool. Thank you.
Love that these are all really compact! We usually do family game night on Holidays, I could easily fit all of these in a tote and take them with us!
I am partial to card games and I do remember reading about these on your posts! Of course I also love certain board games like Scrabble or Monopoly–but the reality is I don’t play games much since I do live alone–I mostly read (as I’m sure you know)
This is such a great selection of games. My boys would have a ball with all of these games for hours.
I’d like to try Moose in the House. That’d be fun for my aunt too, who lives in Maine (she had a moose in her yard, thankfully never one in her house). 😉
I really like that you rank your favorites to help us choose which one(s) we might like most too!
Ok next time you do your game round up my boys and I want to come over. You always have the best games. I love your posts and I am making my list for my kids for christmas
You all definitely win in the game department! All five of these are new to me but I look forward to learning more about them since we feel games are a great way to spend family time together.
I think Walk The Plank is really fun! These games are great for family gatherings, too.
Just pinned this! I can’t wait for my son to get old enough to play board and card games because I love them!!
I just love all the 5 games. I am going to have to go toy store and pick up Trench and Spite & Malice. I will play the games with my boys:)
Some of these look really cool! We will be starting up family game night again soon, so I will have to pick up a few new ones!
I think the only board games I know are the old ones, like pictionary, etc. These are awesome new games that I can play with my girls!
What a great roundup. All the games sound super fun.
