Preparing for the 2020 Chicago Auto Show
If you happened to be watching the commercials during the Super Bowl on Sunday then you already have an idea of what is in store if you visit the Chicago Auto Show when it opens to the public on Saturday. The popular automotive theme of those commercials – electric vehicles and luxury. I’ll be hopping in an Altima tomorrow and heading to Chicago as a guest of Nissan and the Chicago Auto Show to see first-hand what will be rolling off the assembly lines and onto the showroom floors.
If you’re looking for reasons to attend the Chicago Auto Show, they consistently deliver an outstanding presentation with innovation, variety and fun for the whole family. Last year there was a full-scale truck built out of Lego bricks! In addition, it’s also an excellent foundation for discussions to get your teen ready for driver’s ed.
Each year when I attend, I like to look for a common theme. As an example, at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show I noticed the exhibits were filled with cars from popular movies like Ant-Man and the Wasp, A Wrinkle in Time, Black Panther, Star Wars The Last Jedi and even Steve McQueen’s Bullitt.
Last year I had fun hunting down a bunch of automotive Easter Eggs. I found logos buried inside headlamps and windshields. Wheels were decked out with racing logos and coffins (yes, you read that right). There was even a brand’s logo that had a race track hidden in plain sight.
Stay tuned for my upcoming winter test-drive of the Altima that Nissan is providing me for the week. It will be quite different than my Nissan Rogue AV AWD test drive from last year and Nissan Rogue Sport test drive in 2018.
Whether you are attending or enjoying from the comfort of your home, download the Chicago Auto Show app for an event schedule, maps, photo galleries, videos and news. You can even search for details by vehicle make and type. The app also includes a 360° interior and exterior spin if you’ve been itching for more details on the 2020 Jeep Gladiator! The show is open to the public from February 8-17, 2020. Follow #CAS2020 across social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) for exciting updates, promotions and news. I’m excited to share that I’ll be doing an an Instagram Takeover of their channel on Sunday!
What type of vehicles or activities do you like to see when attending an auto show?
