CB Disclosure June 2014 v2

Throughout my life I have lived in a number of states and even a different country! I was fortunate to have been exposed to different cultures and traditions, even adopting some of them into our own family. When we lived in West Germany one of our cool Christmas gifts was a chocolate advent calendar that my brother and I would devour each day leading up until December 25th. Mom and dad bought the typical gifts for boys – a train set, army men, model cars and even a BB gun. I mentioned this in a previous post when I bought my oldest her first gun. Now that my youngest is the same age, it is time to carry on the tradition.

Carry on a family tradition, even if you have girls with a Daisy BB gun from Walmart. - SahmReviews.com #ItsADaisy #shop #CollectiveBias We’re fortunate to have a Walmart close by that has a fantastic sporting goods section (this is hunting season after all). Right there on the endcap is what we’re looking for – #ItsADaisy! They also have everything we’ll need to introduce her to the sport – safety glasses, ammunition and even some pre-printed paper targets! In collaboration with #CollectiveBias, Daisy educates roughly one million of America’s youth a year through their Ten Lesson Shooting Curriculum about BB gun use and safety.

I always hated getting Christmas gifts that I couldn’t use until warmer weather, so an early gift-opening was in order. You can see the excitement on her face to have the same thing as her big sister does. It’s our own rite-of-passage and I guess you’d say now a family tradition.

With our wooden fence acting as a barrier, we were guaranteed to keep the projectiles in our own yard. But obviously, safety glasses were still necessary as some rebound was very likely.

Even hitting the black inner circle (an “8” on the score sheet) during her first few shots!

I recently discovered that Daisy has engaged the masses with portable, inflatable BB gun ranges that can be found at major outdoor sporting goods retailers and leading conservation organizations. The majority of those who attend an outdoor or store event and shoot at the ranges are first-time shooters. This would be a great experience for our girls, and will search out one of these events next Spring!

If you are looking for some cool Christmas gift ideas, consider gifting a BB gun from Daisy. They have models for almost any age, and ones that appeal to both boys and girls. Don’t forget to pick up a full complement of safety gear and accessories while you’re there. Who knows, you may start a family tradition of your own!

Daisy is also feeling the Christmas spirit and is giving away a $100 Walmart gift card to one lucky SahmReviews reader so you can purchase a gun for yourself! Use it to take advantage of any after-holiday sales as it probably won’t arrive before Christmas. That just means we’ll be that much closer to warmer weather by the time you get your gun! 1. These bring back so many memories. As a kid, I remember my brother getting a Daisy and we would spend so much time shooting empty soda cans.

  9. Since my family tradition was not to celebrate Christmas, I suppose all of my childhood Christmases were non traditional. For Thanksgiving, though, we are very traditional – turkey is one of my favorite foods.

  10. No one call cps on us but, every baby after the age of 6 months who come into our home, get a basket ride. That is a laundry basket with a blanket inside of it and a rope tied on to the handle and we pull them around. We call it the initiation ride. Sounds silly but they have all loved it.

  11. We tend to be very traditional, but also some spur of the moment things are thrown in. But I can’t think of any to share.

  12. Our traditions are influenced by hubby’s military career. We’ve enjoyed local foods that have become our favorite and local traditions, too.
