We haven’t always put such an emphasis on games here on SahmReviews. In the early days, we covered a lot more variety of products, destinations and random ramblings. We would feature games on occasion as we found opportunities to do so. It wasn’t until 2014 when Scott started working on his weekly Thrift Treasure series did we really start putting more thought into games and featuring them more regularly. Then in July of 2015, we shared a game overview of Tsuro from Calliope Games.

Here we are four and a half years later and we’re featuring the latest version of Tsuro. Our guide to games for tweens included Tsuro: Phoenix Rising. I have only played the original, but it is one of my favorites!

I’ve played the original, which is my favorite, and “of the seas” but that has too much fiddling around between turns. I’ve also made some home variants, but the original is still the best.

I haven’t played it…yet.

I love Of the Seas, because the Kaiju make things unpredictable and adds a heap of excitement. Plus, you can always play the regular version by not including the monsters.

I don’t have a favorite version of this game as I haven’t played it yet, but it sounds like it’s time to try it judging from all these favorable comments.

I don’t know, haven’t play a version of it.

I just recently rec’d and played the original so that’s my favorite but Phoenix looks interesting and adds some new elements.

I love Tsuro of the Seas because of the additional luck factor added into the game!
