Can you believe the end of the school year is actually within reach. Knock on wood that Mother Nature doesn’t hit us with more snow days. If you think I’m joking, I’m not. We’ve gotten some pretty nasty storms this year and this month, including hail while areas just north of us were hit with snow! I like to believe that we’re out of the woods so I’m starting the planning process for all the things we want to do once school officially lets out. We’ll play games, travel to gaming conventions, hit up some of our ideas for family bonding, catch up on shows on the DVR and naturally, we’ll see movies and eat popcorn! While our busy schedule prevented us from seeing all the movies in May and releases in April, but we’re ready for June!

Seems there is a good mix of action, thriller, comedy and animation but there are THREE horror movies. Some are original features, many are additions to existing franchises and some are reboots. Releases include features from Walt Disney Studios, Universal Pictures, Lionsgate, Focus Features, Sony Pictures Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros. Pictures, Orion Pictures and even one from Amazon Studios!

Legendary talk-show host Katherine Newbury (Oscar® winner Emma Thompson) is a pioneer in her field. The only woman ever to have a long-running program on late night, she keeps her writers’ room on a short leash ― and all male. But when her ratings plummet and she is accused of being a “woman who hates women,” Katherine puts gender equality on her to-do list and impulsively hires Molly Patel (Mindy Kaling), a chemical plant efficiency expert from suburban Pennsylvania, as the first and only female on her writing staff. With rumors swirling that Katherine is being replaced by a younger, hipper male host, she demands that the writers make her funny and relevant again. A lifelong fan, Molly is determined to prove she’s not just a diversity hire, but the one person who can turn her idol’s career around. Going against everything Katherine has staked her reputation on, she urges her to make the show more contemporary, authentic and personal, a move that could make Molly’s career ― or send her back to the chemical plant for good.
