A few months ago we mentioned the one company at Gen Con that our youngest daughter beelines to when the doors open. The Chessex booths are the highlight of the show for her because she can not only find the latest dice offerings, she can save a lot of money by purchasing discontinued patterns and factory seconds.
Recently she has discovered eBay and all the wonderful deals available to her there. She has found that not only can she save some of her hard-earned dollars, there are colors and designs not available from Chessex and unique from anything her game-playing friends have! Here are but a few she has recently purchased.
She refers to these as her “Ninja Turtle” dice since it reminds her of those heroes on a half-shell. The set includes everything she’ll need for a session of D&D or Pathfinder and really shine in the daylight.
Made to look like something ancient, she also purchased an Antique Silver version that looks as if it could have been chiseled from rock. Thematically these really fit in with her role-playing games.
This set really stands out, not just for their vibrant colors, but for what the symbolism represents. The board game world is trying to become more inclusive of all people, and playing a game with these rainbow-themed dice shows her support for all humanity.
Deep Space Galaxy
These are her current favorites and the newest to the collection. Dark blue mixed with a dirty yellow (and of course, glitter) gives the appearance of the furthest corners of our universe. With each set being slightly different, she wishes she could have them all!
These are just four of the sets she recently acquired and there are many other unique patterns available. Check them out on eBay and pick up a set or two for the gaming nerd in your family!
