A Tropical Breeze in Your Office

Disclosure

I know it’s December and probably the last thing you’re thinking of is cooling off. Most of you are probably wrapped in a blanket or sweater sipping a hot drink. Same here, it’s cold out! But we all know some of the best deals can be had when you buy out-of-season. We always stock up on swimsuits for our girls in the fall, buying a size larger that they’ll grow into by next Spring. Winter boots are priced amazingly every March, and since adult feet don’t typically change in size (and I couldn’t care less that it is “last year’s style”), it’s the perfect time to snag a pair.

Right now while everyone else is thinking about portable heaters and thermal underwear, I am thinking about keeping cool next summer. This past year rather than trying to cool the entire house during the day when we’re only using one or two rooms, we experimented with raising the thermostat and using small fans to keep us refreshed. Our floor model from Ozeri we showed you last April did a great job of circulating the air in our bedroom, but for our family area (with a much wider area), we needed something a little more substantial.

After looking at a number of options, we settled on the Ozeri 3x Tower Fan which boasted passive noise reduction technology. We would be using this in the family room where we watch TV, so we didn’t want to have to turn up the volume to drown out the drone of a fan. Upgraded with canted fan blades, it utilizes the physics of blade curvature to generate opposing sound waves and to reduce blade noise and isolate the soothing sounds of the airflow itself. Thanks to these improvements, Ozeri boasts a sound level of under 50dB while still maintaining a remarkable airflow velocity.

There is an extended range remote included, but I found using the touch sensitive LED control panel provided easy access to all features, including a 7.5 hour timer that can be programmed in 30 minute increments.

You can alter the settings yourself, or choose from one of three pre-programmed airflow patterns designed to foster sleep, relaxation and comfort.

Our favorite by far is the Tropical Breeze setting. The fans turn on an off every few seconds to simulate the gusts of air you might feel while sunning on a beach. I cannot wait to use it this summer and see if it lets me escape to someplace that’s not Iowa.

Like I mentioned, off-season is the time to buy. Right now you can find it discounted over 25% on Amazon! Want to learn more about Ozeri and some of the other lines they offer? Check out their website as well as their Facebook and Twitter timelines. I’m sure you’ll find something you can’t live without – even if it isn’t the season!

  1. This looks like a really nice fan. Seems like we are always in need of a new fan. I think it’s pretty cool that tis has a Tropical Breeze setting

  2. I am sitting here drinking hot chocolate—-it is cold and dreary out there (NY). My air conditioners don’t work very well for the last couple of years and I have been using exclusively fans! I am definitely interested in this one–quieter you say? Hopefully I would be able to master the technology needed—–I am so not a tech person.

  3. Great to know! I am not really familiar with this brand but it has a memorable name so I will look for one when I need something like this. Thanks! Also it keeps raining here and I am tired of that already but not much snow yet. Regardless the darker days make me want to take a trip!

  4. That’s a nice looking fan. I like that it has a remote control, and the summer breeze feature has me sold… I like anything that reminds me of a beach vacation.

  5. The tropical breeze sounds like a really unique feature. I actually don’t like air blowing on me (weird, I know). Having the remote would make this a great compromise in my house because I could turn it off when I got cold.

  6. You are right – the last thing this Montanan is thinking about is cooling off! I do have a similar fan from Ozeri in my bedroom for our hot Montana summers and it works great!

  7. It doesn’t take up much space and just looks like it just fits in with the TV and modern electronics in the picture. Since I moved from Arizona to Oregon I haven’t had to think about fans much, but our upstairs does get hot in the summer.
