New Game Release – AQUA: Biodiversity in the Oceans
The Op has released AQUA: Biodiversity in the Oceans, a new game by Dan & Tristen Halstad, into retail this month.
AQUA lets you create enchanting underwater worlds around a coral reef hotspot to attract an array of marine animals in a thematic tile-laying game, beautifully illustrated by acclaimed artist Vincent Dutrait.
Designed by father and son duo Dan & Tristan Halstad, AQUA came to life early in the Covid isolation. “When the pandemic hit and we were stuck inside, I was looking for an activity to engage my then 7 year old son Tristan” Dan Halstad says. He continues, “Tristan dreams of becoming a marine biologist and a game designer, so I figured there could be no better activity than combining those dreams”.
AQUA is designed for 1-4 players, ages 8+ and plays in 30-45 minutes. It includes 70 Coral tiles, 72 Small Animal tiles, 15 Large Animal tiles, 4 Hotspot tiles, 24 Ecosystem tiles, 1 Sea Snail tile, 1 Scorepad, 1 Rules booklet and an easy-to-assemble insert.
The Op also released Hues and Cues and many other award winning titles.
