Concealer for Fixing Those Imperfections
A year and a half ago, I started having serious skin problems that left my eyelids horribly flaky. I tried a variety of things to make it go away including going make-up free for a week as directed by my doctor. Makeup is something I’ve always had to be careful with due to skin sensitivities but over the years I haven’t had as many issues. This breakout freaked me out and annoyed me enough that I actually went to the doctor to have it checked out. For those that know me, that’s a big deal. I’m not a fan of going to the doctor.
He said it was totally normal – a skin fungus that resides on the skin and sometimes acts up. We don’t know what caused the flare-up but a solution was to use prescription-grade hydrocortisone cream. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. Not only did it not clear up the problem but it was also very painful. DH researched various products and found a small jar of cream for around $25. I’m cheap so I freaked out about the price… Until I used it and the skin condition cleared up in only a few days.
What this taught me is that there is a difference in the quality of products – whether it be lotions, creams or make-up. I’ve tried some higher end products such as Lancome and Ageless Derma with great success. You truly get what you pay for.
That’s one of the reasons I was excited to try out Ageless Derma Camoufleur Concealer. I’m a minimalist when it comes to makeup. Often utilizing concealers causes my skin to react and make the blemish even worse than if I hadn’t covered it up at all. That wasn’t the case with this. Since I’ve been using higher quality products, I haven’t had near the amount of breakouts as before. Here’s a small one that I wanted to camouflage.
It isn’t really bad but it’s enough to annoy me. It’s been hanging around for a few days and I’ve applied a small amount of Ageless Derma Concealer each day to cover it up. To my delight, I haven’t had a reaction to it. The consistency is rich but not so thick that it cakes on. I’ve used it several times and barely made a dent in the surface of the cream. I get a small swipe, not even a dab, and apply it.
As you can see, a small amount is all it took to conceal the imperfection. If you’re saying “Well, I can still see it” that’s because I didn’t put any kind of finishing powder on over it. I wanted the example to be clean and realistic. Had I used my foundation powder over the top, you wouldn’t have been able to see it at all – in the photo or in person.
It’s a very natural-feeling product that even this make-up sensitive person can use. Does this sound like a great product for your little imperfections? If so, enter to win one of your own!

Do you have sensitive skin like I do?
That looks like a great product. Love the difference in pictures.
It’s so nice when you don’t have to cake something on to make it work. This is great!
That does look like a great product. I don’t like to put anything on my face. But if I do, it’s very little, so this would work for me. Thanks for the heads up!
I have shared for you. I haven’t used an concealer before not much make-up either. But, others will need to know. Tweeted for you
Thanks for sharing. I believe there is somethings that you pay high end for and get what you pay for but I also believe there is lower price that is also good quality. Make-up might be one that you want to pay more for though.
Like you, I like to keep make up to a minimum and when I do use a bit of it, I like to use natural products that are not toxic to my skin, or make it react negatively.
I need to try this, I am 22 and still have acne like a teenager sometimes.
I’m in mid 30’s and I am such a coward and novice on make up have yet to embrace concealer. But seeign and reading this, it sure is worth a try!
I have this same concealer and it really is great. I love all their products.
My skin is quite sensitive, so this sounds like a good concealer!
I have mild psoriasis and this is something I should look into
I use a concealer daily.
Looks like a really great product. If it lasts all day then that would seal the deal for me!
I’m always glad to see cosmetic reviews. This is very helpful, as I’m never sure what to purchase. This looks like a great product. Thank you!

I have sensitive skin as well and I am always looking for products that I can actually use. Thanks for the information.
I don’t do much makeup and I have a few favorites that I use but this looks like a really great concealer. As I’m getting older I need a concealer that really conceals all my flaws. Will have to check into this one.
It looks like it works nicely and doesnt totally cake your face. Nothing worse than heavy makeup feeling.
You have a smooth skin and that’s a good thing that you found the right product for your skin type. I have only tried one concealer product to cover the bug bites and that was a long time ago. I don’t do make up but I like to have some of my favorite brands and also willing to try other brand I find effective
Concealer is a must have, this product looks good and reliable; I might need to pick myself up some.
I use it religiously. I apply it over top of my eye cream & then I pat a little dab on some of my little brown spots after I put on either CC Cream or foundation depending on my mood, what time of day it is & whether it’s just doing errands during the day or hitting the town @ night, etc…
I have 2 dark spots from sun damage and I cover them
