New Year. New Slate of Movie Releases – January 2026

Greenland 2: Migration, Primate and H is For Hawk are three of the movies releasing in theaters in January 2026 - SahmReviews.com

Well… the year isn’t exactly starting off strong at the movies. I found several “releasing” in theaters in January, but simultaneously on demand. This monthly movie post isn’t intended to provide details on what you can watch at home. There are so many streaming options that the list would be really long and difficult to find the theater-specific releases. As with playing board games, we see a trip to the movie theater as an opportunity for bonding with family and friends. Also, a really, really good excuse to eat popcorn. While this list is short, at least there is a variety; even if they wouldn’t normally be your preferred movie genre.
