Once (or twice) upon a time in a prior life, I was a direct marketing rep. This was well before you could hawk your wares on the internet so the landscape of the business was very different back then. We held actual events in homes or at the local warehouse as opposed to virtual “pop up” stores online. I enjoyed the social interaction of it as well as the opportunity to score some of my favorite products at consultant prices for a fraction of what I would have paid had I bought it outright.
I was always looking for innovative ways to engage with the customers and one of my favorite was a button (or sticker or something, I don’t remember what… it was a LONG time ago!) that basically asked “What was the last thing your spouse said before you left?”
It was always good for a laugh and a great way to break the ice and start a conversation. All these years later, I think of that whenever Scott finds a pair of footwear that he likes. As you know, I have a boot obsession. Fortunately, it isn’t something you will hear Scott complaining because he has just as big of passion for shoes (and boots) as I do!
When I ask him his thoughts on the latest trends at Lugz, he is always eager to give his feedback. He’s also very likely to find something that piques his interest. On the other side, I’m fairly simple and regularly fall back on basic black Empire boots even when I have colorful boots to choose from,
Scott likes to mix things up. He found a pair of dark brown Mallard boots that he thought would be a great addition to his wardrobe. He made this selection because they reminded him of his favorite pair, Lugz Boomer Chukkas.
The weather this winter has been so unconventional we haven’t needed to wear our winter boots much. But we certainly acknowledge the need for some kind of hearty footwear. Our Lugz boots have been good options for taking care of our feet. The first time Scott wore the Mallard boots, he recognized the good choice he had made. Not only were they comfortable but they also looked good. Bonus points for the fact they have slip resistant soles, a water resistant top and a cushioned tongue.
By the way, did I mention my latest addition to my boot collection? Empire Hi VTs. Comfortable as usual, but these have memory foam! My other boots were comfortable but I don’t remember them having memory foam! These also lace all the way up whereas my prior go-to pair of Lugz Sophia had boot lace hooks at the top. I like the style of those, but I had a tendency to get lazy and not cinch them enough and they would loosen. It didn’t bother me, but these new Hi VTs are a nice alternative!
Scott and I both own a variety of Lugz boots and shoes and have enjoyed making them our daily choice of footwear. We always look forward to seeing the new releases offering variety of colors and styles to transition through the seasons. You can read our thoughts on other Lugz products, but I encourage you to check out their social channels to see what all they have available. They are active on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so give them a shout-out if you have any questions about their products. Love Lugz as much as we do?
