Holiday and Beyond: July 2025 at the Movie Theater

Superman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Jurassic World Rebirth are three of the movies releasing in theaters in July 2025 - SahmReviews.com

There was a time when the 4th of July holiday was synonymous with the release of blockbuster features. Back to the Future, various Spider-man features, Apollo 13, Independence Day, Men in Black and Armageddon are just a few of the examples. Visiting the movie theater was an opportunity to see the latest hit while getting a break from the July heat. This year, that isn’t the case. There are a few superhero movies releasing this month, but none to coincide with the holiday. Beyond that, the list is wrought with words like reboot, remake, reimagined and sequel. There are a few good movies on this list, but it’s disappointing when thinking back to the heyday of July movie schedules.

Now that you’ve had a chance to look over the options for July, I’ll let you be the judge on whether it’s a good month or lackluster. There are a few features that we’ll want to hit, but overall, it is such a SHORT list of releases!

Is a summer blockbuster usually on your to-do list for July?
