As we returned from the movie this past week, I was chatting with Kennedy’s boyfriend about The Mandalorian and Grogu. He doesn’t follow the series so it’s not on his watch list. Instead, he commented about looking forward to Backrooms and Obsession – both which were featured in our list of May 2026 movies. I realized that Scott and I tend to hit the theater as soon as possible, many people adjust their movie viewing based on what’s coming out when they have time to go. Whether you plan things out or decide at the last minute, here are the releases for June:

The Invite
Release Date: June 26, 2026
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance
Cast: Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, Edward Norton, Olivia Wilde
Joe and Angela are on thin ice, and tonight might be when it all falls apart. Unfortunately, their upstairs neighbors are about to arrive for dinner, and everything that can go wrong goes worse.
There are several that have received plenty of marketing bandwidth including Toy Story 5, Masters of the Universe, Disclosure Day and Supergirl. While putting this list together this month, I was thrilled to see some sleeper features that are loaded with quality actors. The Invite is one I was reminded of – having only seen one trailer. Power Ballad and The Death of Robin Hood both look great and have excellent casts. Not sure what will bubble to the top in June, but we’ll be starting it out with a Secret Movie and we’ll play it by ear from there.
How often do you select movies based on the actors?
