We’re big movie fans and have no shame in seeing a movie more than once at the theater if we really enjoy it. We also have been known to watch the same movies over and over again when we see them on Netflix or cable. We add to our list of interests by chatting with movie-fanatic friends about the ones we haven’t seen. But our vast knowledge of movie trivia pales in comparison to our friend, Doug. He’s a wealth of information and an awesome asset when we head to trivia night. If you have friends or family that have as big a passion for movies, then you should look at Movie Buff trivia game from Golden Bell Studios. Keep watch for it to show up in one of our upcoming gift guides. You can pick up a copy on Amazon and have it in time for the holidays or enter to win a copy in our Mega Giveaway!

  1. That Darth Vader is Scottish. Undubbed footage, before they add James Earl Jones, with Dave Prowse saying the lines? Comedy gold.

  2. Back to the Future was actually filmed with a different actor than Michael J Fox. They replaced him halway through filming.

  3. Pierce Brosnan was contractually forbidden from wearing a full tuxedo in any non-James Bond movie from 1995-2002

  4. Margaret Hamilton, who played the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz, was 17 years younger than Billie Burke, who played Glinda, the Good Witch of the North.

  5. “What is one piece of movie trivia you know that most people don’t?” That Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn were both gay.

  6. Some scenes from Ang Lee’s “Hulk” and George Lucas’ THX1138 were filimed at the Lawerence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley.

  7. I had read somewhere years ago that something had happened to Margaret Hamilton of the Wizard of Oz (the actress that played the Wicked Witch of the West), in the scene where she melted, as she was being taken down some ladder to try to show the ‘melting’. It was that she had been burned badly on her face and her hand, from the chenicals used to make the “melting” scene.

  8. There is a scream that is in tons of movies, its included because the foley artists (sound effects guys) love it and it has become a tradition. Its called the Wilhelm scream, and its in everything from the latest block busters, to old westerns, to Star Wars and Pixar films.

  9. Behind the scenes of the first Jurassic Park movie, where they had actually made a to-scale animatronic T-rex, they had to frequently stop filming, because the “skin” of the T-rex was soaking up water from the simulated rain. Anyhow, they would pat it down with towels and then let is set to dry out fully. While it was drying, it was prone to malfunctions in the form of spontaneous movement. Any crew members who were around when this occurred freaked out due to the life size dinosaur coming to life!
