Detailing the Inside as Well as the Outside

Disclosure

Confession time again. I’ve learned a valuable lesson and I’m not going to repeat the mistake. I’m pretty good at taking care of the things I own, especially when it comes to cars. I change the oil on or ahead of schedule, rotate the tires every 7,500 miles, make sure the fluids are always topped off and even hand-wax the exteriors a couple times a year. I also try to keep the interior vacuumed and the dash dusted so when it comes time to sell or trade it in, we can get top-dollar. But there is one thing I always seem to neglect: the seats.

And I really shouldn’t. I mean it is the most-touched item in the car and is always subjected to extreme temperature changes (especially with seat warmers) as well as drops and spills of all kinds. I always prefer leather seats over cloth just for the fact they clean up easier, but I tend to forget that this material will age over time and needs to be taken care of accordingly.

My recent experience with a leather conditioner from Chamberlain’s Leather Milk made me realize that I had been neglecting some other important leather items in my possession. More specifically, the leather seats in my wife’s car. You guys know that a happy wife makes a happy household. Last thing I want are complaints about the seats in her car. That’ll probably only end one way, a new car with new seats. Price-compare that! Sadly, our seats already show their wear a bit on the bolsters. If they had been conditioned correctly and often, this probably could have been prevented (or at least lessened).

Chamberlain’s has a conditioner perfectly formulated for car seats (leather or vinyl). It applies as easy as my previous bottle did thanks to the included pad applicator. After one coat you can see a HUGE difference! (I did half of the seat to demonstrate.)

Being a convertible, I really shouldn’t have waited that long as the leather is subjected to the sun’s rays as well as the outside environment. After doing just one half of a seat, the dirt was already coming off.

Our Boxster has leather all throughout so it deserves some Leather Milk treatment as well!

Also like their standard leather conditioner, following the instructions to the letter may lead to hilarious results.

  1. My husband is in charge of all things related to the car, so when it needs to be cleaned – he takes care of it.

  2. Your car really does look great! I am embarrassed by how neglected the interior of my car is right now.

  3. This just reminded me of your previous post about Leather Milk. I have been meaning to get some for an old leather belt my dad gave me.

  4. These products look great! I would love to try the leather milk. I’m hoping now that summer weather is finally here I can get my son to wax my car. Can’t beat the feeling of driving a shiny, clean car! 🙂

  5. This would make a great Father’s Day gift for my husband. We have leather seats in both vehicles and he’s always fretting about them.
