Breakfast For Your Chaos-Ridden Days

I don’t know what mornings look like for your family but for my family it’s usually pretty chaotic. Each morning one of my elementary school daughters has to get up for orchestra and ride the early bus to the junior high. The girls set their alarms for 6 o’clock every morning but usually just turn it off when it buzzes. Their bus leaves at 6:45 so between the time their alarm goes off at six and the time they have to leave, I walk up and down the stairs no less than three times to wake him up or check on them. Once she is on the bus, I need to help the other get ready. Breakfasts, homework packed, lunches and snacks prepared, confirming they did their chores, etc. are all part of the routine. In the middle of all that, I’m checking online for things that need to be addressed or wrapped up.

It’s exhausting and there are some mornings that I forget to eat breakfast. That’s not a good thing because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A couple of times a week hubby and I go to the gym which makes eating breakfast even more important because I need the energy to burn. With the warmer weather on the horizon (knock on wood that winter is finally over since we are already in May) we will start running outside on the opposite days of our trips to the gym. Breakfast is important and not just ANY breakfast. Sometimes I have oatmeal – which I love but it’s time-consuming. Other times I just grab a granola bar. It works, but ideally I prefer protein.

Thanks to Tyson® Day Starts™ products, I now have new items in my breakfast arsenal. Tyson® Day Starts™ sandwiches come in seven varieties including biscuit sandwiches, breakfast flatbreads and wrapped omelets.while they all looked tempting, I couldn’t resist the call of the flatbreads!

The sausage egg cheese flatbread that I bought was positively delicious but what I liked most was how quick and easy it was to make. It only took one and a half minutes in the microwave and it toasted up nicely. I had a sausage egg and cheese flatbread which was kind of like a pizza that I folded over. A few of the pieces of egg fell off when I folded it over so I tasted them on their own. I fully expected something you would find in a school lunchroom but to my surprise they were fluffy and very tasty.

It’s quite often that were eating on the run but Tyson® Day Starts™ products will work well. Since they cook up quickly and can be handled easily, anyone in our family could make these for breakfast. As the kids get older and show more independence it’s nice to have protein filled options like this instead of just cereal and granola bars.

  1. I’ve never seen these, but bet my husband would love them. I usually do a smoothie or a protein drink, unless I have more time.

  2. That looks pretty darn good- probably better in the picture than on the box.. that never happens. lol. I will take a look at these next time I am shopping!

  3. I usually skip breakfast because I’m doing intermittent fasting. But I hate IF because I love breakfast. Eggs are one of my favorite foods. When I do have breakfast it’s a Mediterranean omelet at Village Inn. IF has been awesome for me getting rid of baby weight and keeping it off. Since I’m not in my 20s anymore, I have to go to more drastic measures to keep slim and healthy. But it’s worth it. My body likes the rest. Thank you for the suggestion!

  4. These are perfect to save the day, I normally have oats/granola for breakfast.. mornings could be really hectic, I’m glad you are enjoying these 🙂

  5. The egg/sausage/and cheese flatbread looks awesome. I like to try new breakfast foods like this. And I am a frequent buyer of Tyson brand. And this will cut back cost for when I buy out for breakfast in the morning.

  6. I usually skip breakfast (too busy getting the kids together to get myself anything!) but these actually don’t look too bad. So many quick and easy breakfast foods are…ugh. I might have to give these a try. I’m sure my husband would love them!

  7. I’ve never seen this breakfast product before. It looks yummy! We have a microwave, but use it only occasionally. Oatmeal porridge or a fruit smoothie are our fast breakfast favourites.

  8. I did not know Tyson did breakfast. I will have to check those products out. Breakfast is pretty slow around my house. We enjoy eggs and toast or pancakes. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the the day and lots of times we have breakfast for dinner.

  9. I know these would work out great for my Hubs. He just told me last week how much he likes flatbread. It sure would save me cooking breakfast every day.

  10. My husband likes to have a hot breakfast every morning, and I think he would love these! I am going to have to pick some up this Sunday when we do our grocery shopping!

  11. So cool! I didn’t know Tyson made breakfast products. I wanna try the Egg, Sausage & Cheese Flatbread! Usually I just skip breakfast and go straight for lunch since I get up rather late in the day. But in the past I would eat Oatmeal.

  12. Yum! My son loves eggs and this loos delicious! I’m always running out of breakfast ideas to give him in the morning! Will see if they have those flat bread breakfast sandwiches at my local grocery store! =)

  13. I love how convenient these are to prepare. We don’t have a lot of time to prepare breakfast during our morning rush so I like the idea of being able to prepare these quickly.

  14. I know it has been a while since I have gone through the freezer section but I had no idea Tyson had breakfast anything. My boys would love these, I will have to send my husband to the store, he always finds the new things for them to try.

  15. This looks awesome! I love being able to make something fast if I am running out of time, and this fits the bill.

  16. These would really come in handy for us on weekends when we are on the run. I need something more than a granola bar. The protein in these would keep you satisfied for a long time.

  17. To be honest, I skip breakfast more time than I care to admit. I do love it when I take the time to indulge though, and I always feed it to hubby and the kids.

  18. I think I’m going to pick some of these up for the kids. They will make the perfect breakfasts for the days that we are short on time!

  19. We love eating breakfast, but this is definitely not what I would define as a healthy breakfast.

  20. I always like easy breakfast meals and have yet to see these in the frozen food isle. I will have to go to several stores to see they have them as sometimes it takes quite awhile to get an item in that in other parts of the country have been in the stores for months or longer. Thank you for sharing.

  21. Wow, those look amazing right out of the box and they come with great ingredients ready for on the go meals.

  22. I am going to have to check the stores in my area to see if they carry these. I would love to have some of these on hand for my granddaughter this summer to eat before she goes to summer day camp.
