When I was in high school, I finally was allowed to upgrade my bottle-thick glasses to contact lenses.  What a huge difference it was!  As time has gone by, I've changed the types of lenses I've used from the basic (traditional) to disposable.  With very sensitive eyes, I've had to try different types.  About 8 years ago, I landed on the Night and Day style and have stuck with it. While they were created to stay in all night, I typically take them out at bedtime like a normal pair of contacts. With the optometrist's blessing, I wear them longer than the recommended 30 days because I'm only wearing them during the day and they're designed for 24/7 usage.

Right before we moved back to Iowa from Los Angeles, we decided to plan a visit to Disneyland. It was the kids' first trip there but they were too young to remember anything about it. For me, it was about creating and documenting the memory for them but also one last chance for us. We knew that once we returned to Iowa, a trip to any Disney property would require a lot more than just waking up and saying "Let's go to Disney today."

When we lived in California, I remember shopping one day at Cost Plus Imports and seeing my DH's eyes just light up. He spotted Nutella Hazelnut spread and quickly reminisced with me about how they used to eat it all the time while living in Germany when he was a kid. His family was civilian military and they were stationed there for a number of years. Nutella was one of the things he had forgotten until he saw it on the shelf at the store.

I work with a variety of companies and groups. I've forged relationships with some more than others and am delighted when they know me as more than just the average blogger.

A few weeks ago, I was thrilled to have Mom Central interview me as one of their Mom Central VIPs. Words cannot explain how exciting it is to have someone recognize you for the things that you do. As a small blogger, it is even a bigger deal.

Which leads me to why I'm writing today. Mom Central is hosting a Grant Program where they are offering bloggers the opportunity to win $2,000 to help build their brand, their business and their blogs. I have submitted an entry and obviously, would appreciate your vote. You can vote once daily until April 15th.  Am I asking you to vote daily? No.  I'm asking you to vote when you can, when you think of it, when you feel like it.  If that is only once, then it is one more than I previously had. If it is MANY, well... that would be fantabulous!  Any vote that I get is greatly appreciated!

Many thanks to you, my readers, for your part in building SahmReviews.com into what it is today as well as what it is becoming!

Disclosure:  There was no entrance fee to participate in the Mom Central Grants Program.  I have received no compensation for this post but it does help in my efforts to win the grant.  Winners will be selected by Mom Central in accordance with their posted rules.

Picking a New Years Resolution is always hard for me until this year, hands down it`s to be more conscious of my spending and ways to save. My husband is great at numbers and I balance it out with loving to write, but I crave to be thrifty. So with my best friend's help who is a wonderful accountant and her witty husband who is a very successful business man, I set off to learn more about budgets and how to save.
