Disclosure

When I was a kid, on special Sundays we would leave church and rush to the bakery behind the corner bar to pick up donuts.  If we dawdled too long, the best ones were always gone.  In some cases, all of them were gone.

We didn’t get them all the time, but when we did, it was a total treat.  We lived in a rural area and the small town offered very few amenities.  To be honest, it wasn’t really a bakery behind the bar, I’ll have to ask my parents but I think the donuts were made in the bar’s kitchen.

As I got older and stores like Krispy Kreme started to take off, we saw less and less of mom and pop donut shops.  When the local Krispy Kreme closed, we were left with few options for donuts.  So we don’t get them very often and our only nearby choice is the local grocery store.  It’s sad.

But I’m glad to see that there’s still a National Donut Day!  This year it is June 3rd.  This National Donut Day, Entenmann’s is taking the opportunity to honor Salvation Army volunteers who served donuts to the troops in WWI.  So from May 2nd until June 3rd, Entenmann’s is donating up to $10,000 to the Salvation Army $1 at a time for every “Like” on Entenmann’s Facebook Page.  As a bonus, they have a sweepstakes running with daily prizes, including iPads!

Entenmann’s makes quality products worth purchasing but this donation isn’t contingent on buying anything.  All you have to do is “Like” their page.  That’s totally worth the click.

In the meantime, they’ve given me a prize pack to give away to my readers.  It’s super easy to enter their contest and mine!

The Prize: Entenmann’s Donut Day Prize Pack (Includes 2 $5 gift cards off any Entenmann’s product, National Donut Day T-Shirts, and other Donut Day goodies)
